Privacy Policy

At MZ Wallace, your privacy is a top priority. Please read our Privacy Policy details. MZ Wallace collects customer information to process your purchases and improve your overall shopping experience with us. We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining and using this information responsibly. This Privacy Policy addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you on our website as well as information we collect directly from customers on the telephone or in our stores.

Personal information relating to you and your order history are only available to you on our site if you provide the correct password that you create on mzwallace.com. After providing your password, you can edit or delete your information at any time through the My Account page. If you forget your password, you can request that it be emailed to your email address. We will not give passwords out over the phone, nor will we email them to a different email address than the one used to register.

Your address book and wishlists, located in the My Account pages, are your personal storage space. We do not use the names of the people in your address book or people with whom you share your wish lists, promotions, or other content, to send unrelated email promotions or catalogs by mail. You are responsible for obtaining consent from recipients for these messages we send on your behalf.

You can opt out of receiving promotional communications from us at any time by following the instructions provided in those communications or by contacting us via the methods listed at the end of this policy.

If you are a California resident, you may have different or additional rights. Please see the CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS’ RIGHTS section below for more information.

Information we collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, and is reasonably capable of being associated with a particular consumer, household, or device (“Personal Information”). Personal Information does not include publicly available information in government records or de-identified or aggregated consumer information.

We collect Personal Information you provide to us and through automated data collection technologies such as cookies and pixel tags. Any Personal Information you provide to us on our website when you register or update an account, participate in a contest, sweepstakes, promotion or survey, join our mailing list, request a catalog, shop online, shop by telephone or in our stores, or request information (i.e. name, address, email address, telephone number, and credit card information) is maintained in private files on our secure web server and our internal systems.

If you are visiting mzwallace.com from a location outside of the United States, you will be connected through and to servers located within the United States. All mzwallace.com orders will be accepted and fully processed in and shipped from the United States and all information you provide will be securely maintained in our web server and internal systems located within the United States. We do not transfer or store Personal Information across international geographic borders unless it is required for the provision of products to our customers or required by a governing authority.

In the 12 months preceding the Last Updated date of this Privacy Policy, we have collected the following categories of Personal Information from consumers:

  • Category A: Identifiers, such as name, postal address, Internet Protocol (IP) address, and email address.
  • Category B: Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute (California Civil Code § 1798.80(e)), such as name, address, telephone number, credit card number, and debit card number.
  • Category C: Protected classification characteristics under California or federal law, such as gender, age, citizenship, or race.
  • Category D: Commercial information, such as records of products and service purchased, obtained, or considered.
  • Category F: Internet or other similar network activity, such as browser history, search history, or information concerning a consumer’s interaction with a website.
  • Category G: Geolocation data, such as physical location or movements.
  • Category K: Inferences drawn from other Personal Information, such as a profile reflecting a person’s preferences, predispositions, attitude, behavior, intelligence, or abilities.

We may use Personal Information we collect for one or more of the following purposes:

  • To fulfill or meet the reason you provided the information, such as by fulfilling an online order for an MZ Wallace product.
  • To create, maintain, and secure your account with MZ Wallace.
  • To process your requests, purchases, transactions, and payments, and to prevent transactional fraud.
  • To provide support and respond to inquiries, including to investigate and address your concerns and monitor and improve our responses.
  • To help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our website, databases, and other technology assets.
  • For testing, research, analysis, development, and refinement of our products and services.
  • To personalize your website experience and to deliver content and product offerings relevant to your interests including targeted offers and ads through our website and other third party websites and via email or text (with your consent where required by law).

We will not collect additional categories of Personal Information or use the Personal Information we collect for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

Information we share

We do not sell your Personal Information. We do not share our postal and email lists, your shopping history and credit card information, or any other Personal Information about you with unaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes, except as disclosed in individual contests, sweepstakes, promotions, or surveys in which you may elect to participate.

We may share your information with unaffiliated third parties who provide services to MZ Wallace such as helping us to maintain and manage our customer information, communicate with our customers, service our website, conduct promotions or surveys, order fulfillment, etc. Before disclosing Personal Information to third parties, we enter into a contract that describes the purpose and requires the recipient to both keep the Personal Information confidential and not use it for any purpose other than that described in the contract. MZ Wallace does not authorize any of these service providers to use or disclose customer information under any circumstances other than in connection with providing services to MZ Wallace.

You should also be aware that we may disclose specific information about you if required to do so by law, governmental request or court order or based on our good faith belief that it is necessary to conform or comply with such law, request or court order or to protect the users of our website or the public.

Cookies

We may collect information about your browser, including, where available, your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about how you browse our website.

We use cookies to recognize you and your preferences to make shopping easier and provide you with a customized experience on our website. Cookies are bits of information that we automatically store on your computer if your computer accepts cookies. Cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information such as your name, address or any financial information on your computer. MZ Wallace places a unique user ID number on your cookie which allows us to access information that will improve your shopping experience - such as holding items in your shopping basket, accessing your address book, or providing you with customized pages based on your past viewing or purchasing preferences. We also use cookies to track traffic to different parts of the website in order to make improvements and optimize your shopping experience.

If you do not wish to have a cookie on your system, you can set your browser preferences to refuse them. In order to disable cookies, please consult your browser’s help section for instructions.

Pixel Tags

We also use "pixel tags" (sometimes called “Internet tags”, "web beacons" or "clear GIFS"), which are tiny graphic images, on our website. Pixel tags help us analyze our customers' online behavior and measure the effectiveness of our website and our advertising. We work with service providers that help us track, collect, and analyze this information.

Pixel tags on our website may be used to collect information about your visit, including the pages you view, the features you use, the links you click, and other actions you take in connection with the website. This information may include your device’s IP address, your browser type, your operating system, date and time information, and other technical information about your device. We may also track certain information about the identity of the website you visited immediately before coming to our site. We do not otherwise track any information about your use of other websites.

Pixel tags and cookies in our emails may be used to track your interactions with those messages, such as when you receive, open, or click a link in an email message from us.

We also work with business partners that use tracking technologies to deliver advertisements on our behalf across the Internet. These companies may collect information about your visits to our website, and your interaction with our advertising and other communications.

We may combine the information we collect through cookies and pixel tags with other information we have collected from you. This information may be used to improve our website, to personalize your online experience, to help us deliver information to you, to determine the effectiveness of our advertising, and for other internal business purposes.

“Do Not Track” is a privacy setting that you may set in your web browser. If turned on, this setting requests that websites not track information about users. We do not honor “Do Not Track” browser settings or signals at this time.

Privacy for children

MZ Wallace is concerned about the privacy of young children and we do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from a child under 13. MZ Wallace does not sell products for purchase by children, and all children’s products we sell are for purchase by adults only. No part of our website is designed or intended to attract anyone under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected Personal Information concerning a child under the age of 13, please contact us at help@mzwallace.com to let us know and, after reasonable confirmation, we will delete the child’s Personal Information.

Security

The security of your information is very important to us. We take reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safety measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. This includes limiting access to our database servers.

We use the 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your online order information. SSL technology encrypts your order information to protect it from being decoded by anyone other than MZ Wallace.

Once you enter the checkout page, your computer will begin communicating with our server in secure mode. You can tell that you are in secure mode because the "http" in our web address will be replaced by "https." Depending on the browser, you will see either a padlock or a solid key in the address bar or lower section for the browser window. Only browsers that use the 128-bit Secure Socket Layer technology are able to order through the MZ Wallace web site. If your browser does not support SSL, we recommend that you download an updated version.

While we implement these and other security measures on this site, please note that 100% security is not always possible.

California Residents' Rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides consumers who are California residents with specific rights regarding their Personal Information. If you are a California resident, this section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.

Right to Information. Subject to certain limits, California residents may ask us to provide them with the following information for the 12-month period preceding their request:

  1. The categories of Personal Information we collected about them;
  2. The categories of sources from which the Personal Information was collected;
  3. The business or commercial purpose for collecting Personal Information;
  4. The categories of third parties with whom we shared the Personal Information;
  5. The specific pieces of Personal Information we collected about them (also called a data portability request);
  6. If we disclosed Personal Information for a business purpose, a list of the disclosures for a business purposes and the Personal Information categories that each category of recipient received.

Pursuant to a temporary exception in the CCPA, we do not provide these information and data portability rights for Personal Information reflected in business to business communications.

Right to Delete. California residents also have the right to ask us to delete any Personal Information that we have collected about them, subject to certain limitations as set forth under CCPA.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before providing your Personal Information and before deleting your information. Only you or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf may make a verifiable request related to your Personal Information. If you want to authorize someone else to make a request on your behalf, please complete this form, have it notarized, and provide it to the person you are authorizing to submit a request on your behalf. They will be asked to provide the form when they submit your request. We do not charge a fee to respond to your request unless it is repetitive (more than twice in a 12-month period) or excessive.

Pursuant to a temporary exception in the CCPA, we do not provide these deletion rights for Personal Information reflected in business to business communications.

Right to Opt Out of the Sale. California residents who are 16 years of age or older have the right to direct a business not to sell their Personal Information (“right to opt out”). MZ Wallace does not sell Personal Information so you do not need to opt out with us.

Right to Nondiscrimination. California residents also have the right to not be discriminated against if they exercise their privacy rights under California law. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

However, we may offer you certain financial incentives permitted by the CCPA that can result in different prices, rates, or quality levels. Any CCPA-permitted financial incentive we offer will reasonably relate to your personal information’s value and contain written terms that describe the program’s material aspects. Participation in a financial incentive program requires your prior opt-in consent, which you may revoke at any time. We currently offer: (1) a 15% discount off a consumer’s next full-price purchase if the consumer provides his/her email address to subscribe to our email communications; and (2) discounts, sweepstakes or drawings to consumers who enter the sweepstakes or drawing or who complete a consumer survey.

DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and other countries’ privacy laws provide certain rights for data subjects. A good explanation of them (in English) is available on the website of the United Kingdom’s Information Commissioner’s Office.

If you wish to confirm that MZ Wallace is processing your personal data, or to have access to the personal data MZ Wallace may have about you, please contact us at help@mzwallace.com.

You may also request information about: the purpose of the processing; the categories of personal data concerned; who else outside MZ Wallace might have received the data from MZ Wallace; what the source of the information was (if you didn’t provide it directly to MZ Wallace); and how long it will be stored. You have a right to correct (rectify) the record of your personal data maintained by MZ Wallace if it is inaccurate. You may request that MZ Wallace erase that data or cease processing it, subject to certain exceptions. You may also request that MZ Wallace cease using your data for direct marketing purposes. In many countries, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority if you have concerns about how MZ Wallace processes your personal data. When technically feasible, MZ Wallace will—at your request—provide your personal data to you or transmit it directly to another controller.

Reasonable access to your personal data will be provided at no cost to MZ Wallace’s customers and others upon request made to MZ Wallace at help@mzwallace.com. If access cannot be provided within a reasonable time frame, MZ Wallace will provide you with a date when the information will be provided. If for some reason access is denied, MZ Wallace will provide an explanation as to why access has been denied.

Policy Changes & Questions

MZ Wallace may update our Privacy Policy from time to time and use of the information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of use. Whenever we make a change, we will post the updated Policy at this site and we encourage you to check our policy periodically.
