MARY HEILMANN
We partnered with our friend and contemporary abstract artist, Mary Heilmann, to bring to life this limited-edition Medium Metro Tote. Known for her colorful exploration of painting and printmaking, it features one of her original Serape designs first printed as yardage during her residency at The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) in 1995.
100% of the proceeds from its sale will benefit FWM, an internationally acclaimed contemporary art museum in Philadelphia devoted both to the creation and presentation of innovative works of art.*
“I’ve known Mary for many years and have admired her work ever since I first saw it in the early ’90s. In 1995, during her residency at The Fabric Workshop, she created her Serape design, inspired traditional Mexican weavings. It quickly became an instant classic and remains synonymous with the institution. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Mary to help raise funds for The Fabric Workshop, and we knew right away that we wanted to bring Serape to our Metro Tote. We love the way the print comes to life on the bag.”
